RESEARCH

2002-Present: Fellow
Participate in various research projects including the development of surgical techniques of endokeratoplasty, the efficacy of combined penetrating keratoplasty with glaucoma seton implantation, LASIK postoperative studies, etc.

2001-Present: Resident
In corporation with the Alcon Labs, studied  the refractive outcome of the new single-piece injectable Acrysof SA60AT IOL in comparison to the conventional 3-piece foldable MA60AC IOL.

2000-2002: Resident
Alan Carlson, MD, Director, Cornea Service, Duke University Eye Center.  Developed a nomogram to quantify the intraocular pressure change following LASIK for myopia.

1999-2000: Resident
Craig Fowler, MD, Duke University Eye Center.  Studied the In vitro susceptibilities of ocular isolates in fungal keratitis to posaconazole, a new triazole antifungal agent, and compared it to presently used agents.

1996-1997: Medical Student Fellow, full time
David Epstein, MD, Chairman, Duke University Eye Center.  Demonstrated the gene expression of btubulin in human trabecular meshwork; evaluated the effect of its altered expression on outflow facility as a potential mode of gene therapy for glaucoma; cloned the then newly recognized TIGR gene.
